Santa Barbara County Santa Maria Valley
The Santa Maria Valley Chardonnay includes a mosaic of different vineyard blocks along the Santa Maria Bench, mostly comprised from the Camelot Highlands Vineyard. One of California’s only east-to-west running wine valleys, the Santa Maria Valley is in the northernmost Santa Barbara County and sits 19 miles from the Pacific Ocean in one of the cooler microclimates along the California coast. The climate is heavy maritime influenced with deposits of dense fog in the evenings that do not recede until afternoon, if at all. The vineyard sites are bounded by the San Rafael Mountains at the area’s northern edge and the Sisquoc River at the southern edge.
