Anderson Valley 2016 Jackson Estate Pinot Noir

Rich flavors of blueberries, black cherries, cola and dusty spices. The tannins are silky, while oak barrel aging brings a smoky, sandalwood note.

Mendocino Valley Anderson Valley

The Anderson Valley Pinot Noir is comprised of plantings from Outland Ridge, Boone Ridge and Falk vineyards. The Outland Ridge and Boone Ridge vineyards sit side by side in the hills above Booneville in the southeastern corner of the Anderson Valley, approximately 19 miles from the Pacific Ocean. The environment is less than hospitable with nutrient poor, well drained soils. At 1,500 feet in elevation, these vineyards ride above the fog line which makes this the warmer part of a cooler microclimate. Grapes from these two vineyards provide power in the aroma and flavor as well as savory accents. Meanwhile, Falk Vineyard sits much closer to sea level amongst the towering redwood trees right outside of Navarro, just 9 miles from the Pacific Ocean. Falk Vineyard provides the elegance and femininity to balance the Booneville fruit. This wine is a combination of the more savory aromatics and savory tannins of Boonville and the silkier, soft character of the "deep end" of Navarro.
